Your Opportunity

We are partnering with a fast-growing business to provide them with an experienced Finance Director. Our client operates on an international scale with a presence in Europe, Asia, and Australia, with over 400 employees worldwide. They offer an environment that is forward-thinking when it comes to working with industry leading technology applications creating bespoke solutions for their extensive, and recognizable, client base. They enjoyed a strong 2020 throughout the effects of Covid, seeing incredible growth where they more than doubled their predicted turnover, and 2021 has seen that upward trend continue.

In this position you will work closely with the Managing Director based in Brisbane, as well as the Group CFO based in Europe so you will enjoy the full support of senior leadership.

Whilst the focus of the role is to lead the Australia business across a wide range of areas including finance, legal, compliance, treasury, HR, and IT you will also have an opportunity to take a panoramic view of the operations and provide commercial and strategic input.

Supporting the MD and the CFO you will be highly diligent and accurate in your approach to numbers and reporting, as well being hands-on with developing Internal Controls which includes a detailed review of existing controls and the subsequent roll-out of new policies and procedures. You will develop and maintain relationships with key business partners such as insurers, banks, and auditors.

In addition to having full oversight of the finance function you will be afforded the opportunity to flex your strategic capabilities by working with senior leadership to develop and implement long term planning. You will develop a close working relationship with the MD as you partner on any new business opportunities and have a crucial say in the direction of the company.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Fully qualified accountant - CA or CPA.
  • Excellent experience spanning at least 10 years.
  • A flair for numbers but also a passion for development
  • Natural talent for people leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationships.
  • Forward-thinking ability to work under pressure and with deadlines.
  • Exceptionally high level of honesty, integrity, commitment, and responsibility.
  • International exposure to supply chain, transport, inventory, freight would be highly regarded but is not essential
