Job Summary


Technical accounting expert for the group. Responsibility for the accounting process for production of the annual report and accounts and interim statements. Guide the business on technical accounting matters, including adoption of new accounting standards across the group worldwide. Finance business partner to the Group Property Director. This role will have hybrid flexible working - 0-2 days in the Crawley office with the remaining days worked from home or a 3rd space

Your day to day responsibilities will include

Group Technical Accounting Expertise

Providing guidance to the business on technical accounting matters, including the impact of new or updated accounting standards. Be the first point of contact for business units and central functions on technical accounting issues. Provision of guidance on external reporting requirements, including the Group Annual Report and UK statutory accounts. Keeping up to date with all technical accounting developments and pro-actively communicating potential impact to Group Financial Controller, CFO and other business stakeholders (including the impact on the group of new accounting standards). Leading the Group goodwill impairment review process. Being the first point of contact with external auditors in relation to the above.

External Reporting Leading the process for preparation of the 'Financial Statements' section of the Rentokil Initial plc annual report and contributing to other areas (strategic report and governance sections) as necessary. Being the main point of contact with the audit team and facilitating an efficient audit of the annual report. Taking the finance lead on the team preparing the annual report. Performing the same role for half year interim statements. Preparing (and guiding other preparers) of statutory accounts for UK entities.

Finance business partner to the Group Property Director Providing financial support on all property matters, including financial modelling (e.g. on sale and leaseback transactions), support on preparation of business cases, supporting on accounting implications of


and forecasting. Attending Investment Committee meetings on property matters. Management and financial reporting of environmental property provision balance across the globe.

Other Duties Include Reporting for the UK pension schemes, including liaison with external parties in respect of valuation assumptions and accounting. Preparation of statutory accounts for certain Group legal entities. Responsible for maintenance and communication of the Accounting Policy Manual. Additional responsibilities as required on an ad hoc basis.

We are looking for ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant with relevant accounting experience. Experience of working on preparation of annual report and accounts, either as a preparer or an auditor. Experience of preparing statutory and management accounts. Strong general IT, spreadsheet and analysis skills. UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge essential. Focused on strong internal controls and operating a rigorous daily and monthly reporting process. Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organisation. The role requires someone who is delivery and deadline focused particularly around key deliverable dates. Experience of working in a top 4 accounting practice preferred.
