Job overview

We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to be part of our trust wide cancer improvement programme. The post holder will work within the cancer services & across the trust to deliver training on national cancer audits & also to improve the quality of the cancer data we collect.

Main duties of the job

The main role will be to design & deliver bespoke training packages that will support colleagues to understand the national audits, & to identify opportunities for data quality improvement within the corporate cancer services.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in the practical application of the cancer waiting times national guidance, & experience working with cancer information systems such as the Somerset Cancer Register. They will also be able to evidence experience delivering tailored training material to engage learners & meet agreed learning objectives.

Training & Education
Essential criteria
  • Qualified to degree level or NVQ Level 5, or equivalent skills / experience in a relevant field

Desirable criteria
  • Teaching Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Experience of audits and the principles of good information governance
  • Experience working with cancer information systems such as the Somerset Cancer Register
  • Experience in developing, designing and tailoring training materials to engage learners and meet agreed learning outcomes

Desirable criteria
  • Training experience within the NHS

Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
  • In-depth knowledge of the national Cancer Waiting Times guidance and Cancer Outcomes and Services Dataset
  • Able to work on own initiative and organise own workload to meet deadlines
  • Confident in communicating complex information to a range of stakeholders
