Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role within the JRMs Accounting & Finance Department. The incumbent will specifically be a key contributor in our financial closings and reporting, internal controls and analyzing accounting operations overall.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in the financial closing process and other assigned department related tasks, as necessary
  • Book journal entries and prepare related account reconciliations
  • Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, budget forecasting, journal entries, accruals, cost accounting and work in progress analysis
  • Analyze financial results and investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate issues, effectively and in a timely manner
  • Actively maintain and review designated General Ledger accounts and activity
  • Support business processes by partnering with other departments
  • Consistently evaluate areas for process improvement and automation
  • Respond to external audit requests
  • Assist in ad hoc accounting or finance projects and analysis, as assigned


  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience accounting experience, construction accounting is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
  • CPA accreditation is a plus
  • In depth knowledge of Accounting theory and application of Accounting Principles
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at various levels in a clear and concise manner
  • Proactive self–starter who enjoys a fast–paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi–task and meet pressing deadlines
  • Team player with a strong work ethic

Computer Systems

  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Sage 300 (Timberline) is a plus
