Essential (Required) Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Two years of work experience in the areas of business or systems process analysis with a related BA/BS degree, or four years of work experience in the areas of business or systems process analysis with a non-related BA/BS degree.
  • Working knowledge of requirements definition techniques.
  • Experience writing documentation, workflows, and procedures to address system and user needs.
  • Proficient customer service and public contact skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with SQL.
  • Ability to communicate technology concepts effectively with technically-proficient and non-technically proficient stakeholders.

About the Job

Destiny One Business Analyst 2: $65,000-$75,000 DOQ

The University of Minnesota is seeking a business analyst who is passionate about making a positive difference in students' lives. As a member of Destiny One team within Academic Support Resources (ASR), this position will support the University of Minnesota's enterprise non-credit registration software. The successful candidate will come into this position with prior business, and/or systems process analysis experience, and will have a strong interest in continued professional development to ensure the team's success in supporting learners, faculty, and staff across the University of Minnesota.

Business Analysis:
  • Work with colleges to analyze and understand their complex business processes and make recommendations to align technology solutions to effectively utilize available systems.
  • Collaborate with members of the non-credit user community to solve complex problems and analyze desired business needs.
  • Design and document specifications and facilitate implementation of integrations between the enterprise system and other software applications.
  • Ensure appropriate creation and execution of test strategies and document results.
  • Document business process and configuration requirements.

Production and Operations Support:
  • Execute appropriate decision making to support solution configuration decisions that meet the enterprise needs.
  • Contribute as a subject matter expert in delivering improvements to the processes, technical architecture, and design of subject areas and user interfaces.
  • Assist in the rapid resolution of production issues.
  • Synthesize data and identify patterns of need among users.
  • Provide end user support and training.
  • Test and evaluate solution releases.
