The Opportunity

VHS is seeking a Senior Accountant within the Finance and Accounting Team, reporting directly to the CFO/COO. A crucial position that will support Group Reporting while maintaining the integrity of Risk and Control Frameworks.

The ideal candidate will come from a large multinational with experience in Gaming, Technology and High Growth Start-ups.

Alternatively, a Big 4 / Mid-Tier first mover will also be suitable for this position.

This role represents the first key hire within the finance function of the business. This Senior Accountant position represents the opportunity to help build a team of finance professionals to help support the treasury and payroll functions.

About You

As a technically strong Accountant/Senior Accountant with 3-4+ years of experience minimum, you are self-motivated, results-driven, able to engage, inspire, influence, negotiate and coach others, possess highly developed networking skills as well as strong project management skills within a global business. You hold a Degree in Accounting and are a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Practicing Accountant (CPA).

You thrive working in a fast-paced environment, can multitask and meet deadlines. You have experience in systems such as XERO and implementing safeguards to mitigate risk.

Ideally, you have worked within a Tech Start-Up and/or Sporting industry and have a flexible can-do attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of weekly, monthly and annual reporting, budgeting, cashflows and forecasting;
• Providing meaningful reporting for management and cross-functional teams;

• Financial / Management Accounting;
• Half year and full yearly reporting;
• Forecasting and budgeting;
• Local and international tax;
• Review and lodge monthly BAS returns;
• Ad hoc accounting projects;
• Innovation & continuous improvement;
• Implementation of safeguarding controls.

Selection Criteria

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting;
• CA / CPA Qualification;
• Demonstrated experience with a Multi-National or Big 4/Mid-Tier Firm;
• Proven 3-4+ years industry experience within an accounting role;
• Demonstrated experience and/or exposure to Internal and External Audit;
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal;
• Passion for and experience working within gaming, technology or high growth start-up sector;
• Demonstrated experience with foreign currencies functions;
• Demonstrated experience with setting up control policies.
