Our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Practice partners with Chief Finance Officers, their finance teams and wider areas to create long-term value, trust and confidence within their organisations. As a Senior Consultant you will combine your commercial experience, regulatory knowledge, and expertise in financial accounting, to contribute to outcomes related to financial reporting, finance process improvement, budgeting, costing, major transactions and financial due diligence both domestically and internationally.

This role could see you support a broader team in:

• Financial and regulatory reporting
• Budget development and estimate preparation
• Financial accounting advice on new policies, business cases and capital infrastructure projects
• Interpreting international accounting standards
• Automation, digitisation and improvement of financial processes
• Advising CFOs on financial frameworks and governance
• Financial data analytics
• Functional and efficiency reviews

Your key responsibilities

Working directly with a wide range of clients across various sectors, our Senior Consultants operate under the direction of senior personnel and are responsible for:

• Planning, managing and participating in various engagements
• Preparing high quality deliverables tailored to client needs
• Supervising workstreams, small engagements and reviewing work performed
• Work with other EY locations, service lines and specialists to deliver a fully integrated service offering
• Building strong relationships with your clients
• Contributing to the advancement of EY tools and methodologies that empower our people within their roles
• Developing your understanding of your client's industry sectors, recognising key performance drivers, business trends, and new technical and industry developments
• Developing client insights, recommendations and/or options through high-quality analysis, EY's proprietary frameworks and/or models and the use of digital tools
• Contributing to the development of professional literature and thought leadership that addresses contemporary accounting and finance matters in an insightful, practical context to our clients, teams and the accounting professional

To qualify for the role, you must have

• CA or equivalent professional qualification
• A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience

Ideally, you'll also have

• A degree in accounting and/or other appropriate academic major
• Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/AASB)
• Experience working in a finance team
