Daiwa House Australia Pty Ltd is a 100% subsidiary of Daiwa House Industry Co.,Ltd., the largest homebuilding and construction company in Japan. We develop residential units, commercial facilities, and land for a subdivision in Australia.

Position Title: Accountant (Full time)

The role

This role is responsible for ensuring that financial information of the company and its related entities are properly generated, recorded, and reported to relevant authorities in timely manner.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Perform day to day accounting processing including AP/AR and general journals
  • Maintain fixed asset register and intangible asset schedule including depreciation/amortisation run
  • Perform monthly end closing including intercompany-transactions, AASB16 Lease and income tax calculation
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Prepare quarterly consolidation reporting package in Japanese to the headquarters
  • Prepare various reporting in Japanese as per the headquarters' requirement
  • Prepare the year-end consolidated and company statutory financial statements and related note disclosure
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax consultant for year end and various taxation matters
  • Prepare ATO Business Activity Statements, FBT Returns and the CbC reporting
  • Handle all the settlement matters including preparing a settlement statement, reviewing the relevant legal documentation and liaising with solicitors
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required
Qualification, skills, and experience required:
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong fluency in English and Japanese languages
  • Practical experience using SAP system
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • The ability to work in a flexible manner, under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong time management and organisation skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise your work
  • High problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Possess a can-do attitude
Salary: $65,000 plus Superannuation or above
