Financial Accountant - US GAAP

Up to £65,000 + bonus + benefits

Morgan Philips is delighted to partner exclusively with this international, blue chip business. The business has being through a period of growth and have a current requirement to recruit a US GAAP accountant to work within their team.

Although operating nationally and internationally this is a business with a major presence in the Glasgow area. They have a strong reputation in the market for supporting and developing their staff and can offer good career development opportunities within various areas of their business both locally and internationally.

Overview:

Reporting to the Finance leadership team. The role is to provide support to the UK team, assisting in the delivery of technical US GAAP guidance (as well IFRS 9) and related

technical consultation supporting local implementation for future acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with finance colleagues to provide US GAAP analyses and implementation guidance on new standards.
  • Interact effectively with senior management and staff from across the different functions and business divisions in responding to questions / issues related to the application of US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Provide updates for senior management on US GAAP/IFRS standards and changes
  • Work effectively alongside diverse group of colleagues with different backgrounds and experience to resolve technical accounting issues.
  • Provide training and development on US GAAP and IFRS to staff
  • Assist in evaluating US GAAP accounting risks
  • Develop and maintain US GAAP accounting policies
  • Assist in supporting industry / peer discussion groups relevant to accounting policy (IFRS and US GAAP).


Ideal candidate:

  • A qualified accountant from either practice, industry or financial services
  • US GAAP experience
  • IFRS knowledge
  • Strong people skills
