A global insurance firm currently requires an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join them on a permanent basis in their London city office. The purpose of this role is to support the Business Partners in the delivery of the business planning and reporting service, including determination and communication of annual budgets and long-term forecasts, to the underwriting Divisions. As well as providing the support for independent financial analysis which support effective underwriting decision-making processes within the allocated Divisions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Partnering
• Support Business Partners in understanding YOA Ultimate and GAAP result against Plan / Prior Year
• Ensure final results are distributed as required including ensuring robust numbers flow through to actuarial and finance processes
Premium Planning
• Assist in monthly premium planning cycle
• Identify key area for improvement and implement solutions
Business Plan / Forecast
• Assist Business Partners in production of annual business plan and SBF, including review and challenge
• Assist in production of reports of past and planned performance at required levels of granularity tailored to audiences, including the Underwriting Committees, the Board, the CUO / Active Underwriter / Underwriting Heads and Underwriters
General
• Enhance the efficiency and consistency of information throughout the business
• Communicate effectively with both information providers and stakeholders to ensure output meets business demands
• Continual innovation to ensure that reports produced are displaying results in the most appropriate manner with sufficient analysis
• Analysis as required to support the team
Requirements
• Part Qualified accountant - ACA/CA/CIMA/ACCA
• Understanding of general insurance financial information and processes
• To have an understanding of the Lloyd's insurance market
• Understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes
• Experience of producing financial forecast information
• Experience of writing informative financial commentaries for Senior Executives
• Analytical and inquisitive mind
• Excellent reporting skills
• Excellent communication skills at every level of the organisation
• Presentation skills in reporting management information
• Ability to construct own reports and documents using word
• Very good verbal and written reporting skills
• Advanced Excel
• Anaplan
• Able to deliver results under tight deadlines, showing flexibility when required;
• Strong sense of accountability and ownership of the work assigned;
• Emphasis on quality of the outputs produced;
• Self-starter, requiring minimum supervision, with the ability to solve problems and find solutions.
• "Can do" attitude and willing to take more responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills at every level within the organisation.
