Senior Bookkeeper

Iconic Resourcing are currently engaged with a leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Glasgow who are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join their accounting department. Over the past 12 months and in stark contrast to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, business has continued to grow at this leading firm with a strong reputation of staff retention and development, so this is a newly created position to further facilitate the growth planned for the rest of 2021 and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Reconciling client bank accounts
• Maintaining purchase ledgers and sales ledgers
• Preparing VAT returns and submitting these to HMRC
• Preparing and processing month end journals
• Liaising with other departments over preparation of periodic and year end accounts

Requirements

• At least 3 years recent experience as a bookkeeper or accounts assistant in an accountancy practice - essential
• Expert knowledge of cloud accounting packages (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) - essential
• Strong numeracy and writing skills
• Comfortable working to strict client deadlines in a team environment
• Exceptional attention to detail
