The job

On a day to day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Planning and conducting monitoring visits to firms holding a UK or Ireland auditing certificate and/or CAA-Atol licence issued by ACCA
  • Identifying/communicating any necessary improvements in the firm’s work, ensuring compliance with relevant standards
  • Preparing and issuing detailed reports to firms (or, as appropriate, the Admissions and Licensing Committee or Regulatory Assessor) after each monitoring visit, confirming the findings and any required or recommended actions
  • Follow up on reports issued to firms and post-visit correspondence, including the assessment of any action plan to improve the standard of the firm’s work, and providing further guidance as necessary
  • Carrying out peer reviews of visit reports produced by Compliance team colleagues

The person

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent)
  • Possesses significant post-qualification experience at manager level or above in an audit practice environment
  • Has in-depth technical knowledge of International Standards on Auditing, Ethical Standards and the relevant sections of ACCA’s Rulebook
  • Has extensive practical experience of applying relevant standards
  • Has an appreciation of the importance of appropriate management controls and corresponding “best practice” in the accountancy profession
  • Can communicate confidently, effectively and appropriately with experienced, qualified audit practitioners, both orally and in writing
  • Proven experience of building strong working relationships and managing potentially difficult individuals, whilst remaining calm, assertive and professional at all times

The perks

And in working with us, you’ll enjoy:

  • Core benefits including private healthcare, pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme and Nudge (a financial wellbeing tool)
  • Customisable benefits including health assessments, healthcare cash plan, dental cover, gadget insurance and much, much more
  • Flexible working times to support work/life balance.  In addition, though we may not always be able to accommodate, we'll always consider all requests for flexible working arrangements
