Job DescriptionWe have a requirement for an experienced Financial Controller on a six month fixed term contract basis. Due to pressing business needs, we require candidates to be available for an immediate start, or on no more than two weeks notice. The successful candidate's responsibilities will be:
  • Timely and accurate preparation of high-quality budgets, management & statutory accounts, revenue reports, cashflow, forecasts, scorecards, audit packs, tax computations and KPIs
  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly payroll submission and reconciliation
  • Manage accounting and reporting processes for overseas business units
  • Effective leadership of Finance team to produce efficient, timely and high-quality outputs
  • Oversee effective implementation of company expense process
  • Oversee secure maintenance of accounting records
  • Business partner to the Sales and Operations teams
  • Oversee and review the preparation of the full working papers, KPI pack and financial statements for monthly Board packs. (5 working day post month end reporting)
  • Continually review internal financial processes and procedures, effectively communicating deficiencies and potential solutions and implementing remedial action.
  • Undertake an active role in the production of statutory accounts.
  • Continually liaise with the Ops and sales teams to understand their requirements from a financial reporting perspective.
  • Oversee the purchase ledger process; including the handling supplier and group company queries and reconciliations.
  • Continually review the budgets and forecasts process and improve both timeliness and accuracy of these reporting streams.
  • Fulfil additional ad hoc duties within the wider Finance department from time to time.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Working knowledge of accounting software.
  • Strong IT skills, intermediate Excel skills as a minimum (Including use of SUMIF & LOOKUP functions).
  • Ability to prioritise and self-manage, with a professional "can-do" attitude.
  • Excellent all round communication skills.
  • Background in Finance and awareness of accounting principles and processes.
  • Flexibility to work reasonable additional hours as necessary to perform the above duties.
