Selecta is the largest provider of unattended self-serve coffee and convenience food in Europe, leading the way in vending solutions and specialist coffee services. We are hiring a Management Accountant/ Financial Accountant to join our UK Finance department and support the Head of Financial Control in determining the vision and strategy for Finance, jointly leading the ongoing integration, transformation and improvements. This role has responsibility for all month end and year end processes and reporting for our Operating revenue stream, which includes Technical revenue, Wholesale revenue and machine sales. The salary for this role is £40k - £50k dependant on level of experience.

Responsibilities
  • To lead month-end close and all statutory financial reporting to time and quality, ensuring all accounting standards are maintained. Deliver the monthly management accounts to key stakeholders. Significant involvement in the budgeting & forecasting process for Selecta UK&I companies.
  • Support the preparation and filing of statutory financial statements for all UK & Ireland entities.
  • Support the company and Group auditors and interim review and year-end statutory accounts audit.
  • Balance sheet integrity, delivering a risk-led approach to all financial control and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Support the quarterly Group internal audit declarations and be a point of contact for all internal audit procedures. Ensure that financial controls are effective and that all finance processes are adequately documented.
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving the financial control environment, with associated accounting policy changes and communication across the business.
  • Analysis and review of key overhead accounts, revenue and commercial activity, with appropriate commentary.
  • Accurate, timely and efficient cash flow management and forecasting, driving improvements to optimise liquidity and the return on investments.
  • Optimise the use of the key finance applications (M3) to support and secure the financial control and reporting environment, driving its adoption throughout Selecta.
  • Responsible for improvements to financial data quality and accuracy across core finance processes, working with the Head of Shared Services and Technology colleagues.
  • Representing Finance on the future Finance systems strategy, working together with Selecta Group to scope, plan and execute future finance systems change.


Requirements
  • Relevant accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA or ACCA or similar) / Qualified by experience.
  • Proven experience of controlling/accounting experience in a corporate or Private Equity/PLC environment.
  • Ideally experience in FMCG with a large number of clients, or similar
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (including IFRS) and a good understanding of relevant UK tax.
  • ERP and finance application systems experience (we use M3, Cognos, Microsoft Dynamics.)
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office range, PowerPoint, Word & Excel.
  • Good communication skills with confidence and experience to work at management level and engage effectively across different business functions.
  • An analytical mindset, with the confidence to articulate process improvements across the Finance function.
  • Experienced in coaching or leading, motivating and developing junior members of staff
  • Self-starter and able to prioritise workload for self and team.
