About the Role

The Accountant will take day-to-day responsibility for bookkeeping tasks and ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy and timeliness are met. The Accountant will assist the Financial Controller with forecasting, projects, and ad hoc tasks.

Financial Control
  • Ensure Molo's accounting transactions are recorded accurately, on time, and in accordance with accounting policies
  • Take ownership of cash management, accounts payable processes, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes. Ensuring all transaction are recorded accurately and that all invoices are paid on time
  • Work with external parties to prepare the annual statutory financial statements
  • Liaise with tax advisors on business as usual tax matters (VAT, payroll taxes and corporation tax)
  • Responsible for ensuring that all accounting allocations are appropriately made and documented.
  • Prepare cost center reporting on a regular basis.
  • Build processes with appropriate controls and adequately document procedures. Show initiative in improving processes as the company grows
  • Responsible for ensuring invoices and payments are made timely and are supported by appropriate evidence and approval.
  • Daily bank statement reconciliation
  • Liaise with auditors to fulfill audit requests, and maintain an appropriate audit trail for all accounting transactions

Management information/ Financial reporting
  • Prepare management accounts and ad hoc management MI
  • Assist with preparation of rolling budgets and collating inputs for budget models


Stakeholder management
  • Support the Financial Controller with ensuring delivery of business and operational objectives
  • Communicate confidently and accurately with external advisors, auditors, and the wider Molo team
  • Constantly improve the wider team's experience with Finance.


About You

You must be an enthusiastic self-starter, who is adept at problem-solving and quick at implementing solutions. To be successful you will have developed a strong knowledge of accounting, controls, and processes through experience in the field. You are required to have the below skills and qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications
  • Recently qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with first-time passes.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 4 years work experience in accounting/finance
  • Preferable to have a good understanding of the finance sector
  • Good Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail, hands-on, self-starter, proactive, energetic, and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships (internally & externally) and influence others
  • Experience of working with General Ledger systems. Xero accounting software experience is desirable but not essential
