DescriptionOur Commercial Finance team handle the finance processes for all things online advertising! As a Commercial Finance Analyst you'll provide key management information to the operational functions in the business as well as being a key link between the finance department and the business.

This is an opportunity to support a rapidly growing business across three main financial areas of reporting, forecasting & planning and driving insights. You'll influence and drive data around all things budgets and forecasting and will embed yourself into the ethos of your partners to really understand the business. You'll work hand in hand with the business to prepare weekly trading updates and short term forecasts, process monthly reconciliations of revenue and costs as well as variance analysis.

You'll provide key support to the Financial Planning and Analysis cycle with significant involvement in the budget and re-forecast construct and collation as well as supporting ad-hoc deep dive analysis and insight that can influence decision making.

Understanding and reporting
  • Prepare and distribute robust management information and analysis, consisting of both Financial and Non-Financial metrics to the business and report key variances.
  • Set up reporting and measurement frameworks for new business areas
  • Working with the commercial finance managers and business leaders, to provide data and insight to drive operational performance and improve profitability
  • Engage with the business leaders and operational teams, to drive robust financial decision making supporting the long-term strategy of the business with critical metric reporting
  • Support the month end process, reviewing outputs and delivering commentaries that provides insight into business performance
  • Produce the weekly sales report for the ELT and Sales Directors
  • Deliver appropriate reporting/analysis to the business
  • Reconciliation and posting of revenue, costs and balance sheets as part of the month end process, including liaising with billing and AP teams

Forecasting and planning
  • Support the commercial finance managers during the annual planning process for the business owner; drive the development of local operational plans that support the financial expectations. Build models to support budgeting and forecasting. Ensure that the business is accountable for the plans.

Insight to drive opportunities and limit risks
  • Maintain rolling forecasts supported by immediate threats and opportunities. Use these to support the month end close.
  • Work collaboratively with Business leaders on longer term threats and opportunities. Providing insight that can influence decision making.


RequirementsA successful candidate will have proven work experience within a financial analysis role or will possess a relevant finance degree. You'll have sophisticated Excel skills with the ability to build pivot tables, macros and use VLOOKUP's. Experience within the advertising or digital industry would be highly advantageous.
