Directors of a restaurant and hotels company are seeking a Property Bookkeeper/Accountant for their large personal portfolio of residential and commercial properties. The Candidate main function will be the accounting aspects with responsibility of liaising with various property management companies to let properties and manage the finances. The role is unique in that it requires someone with strong communication & sales skills to let properties but with an accounting background. Experience working in the property sector for 5 years minimum is a pre-requisite.

Job Description

This well established property portfolio with over 30 years of presence are seeking a sole charge Property Bookkeeper/Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.

The most important duties of this role include:

- Taking the accounts to trial balance

- Preparing transactional elements of the accounting function

- Assisting with the year end audit

- Ad hoc duties

Management accounting functions including service charge budget management, management & payment of suppliers, service charge reconciliations, client reporting and bank reconciliations.

Ensuring all landlord, tenant and property financial records are accurate and up to date.

Administering all rent receipts and all expenses incurred against properties ensuring landlords receive the rent due to them and suppliers of services and goods receive payments in a timely manner

Produce monthly landlord statements or other financial reports as may be required from time to time.

Maintain accurate records concerning tenants' deposits and to maintain the necessary administration for the Tenant Deposit Scheme and the return of deposit balances to departing tenants.

Reconcile the landlords current and deposit bank account records.

Deal with any landlord or tenant-initiated queries or correspondence concerning financial & management events.

Entry of all income and expenses in each company.

Reconcile monthly all bank accounts in each company in order to prepare accounts up to trial balance and complete monthly management reports.

Deal with any queries or correspondence from debtors, suppliers or colleagues regarding financial events.

This client is looking for a confident, self-motivated individual This is a sole finance position working with the owners and therefore requires candidates to possess strong accounting skills and knowledge, and the ability to work alone for the most part.
  • Performing daily bank reconciliations.
  • Issuing invoices to relevant parties.
  • Collecting, recording and processing payments
  • Making payments via various means.

To be successful in this role it is highly essential to have strong accounts experience within the property residential & commercial sector. It is also desirable if you have used Sage & strong excel skills is a must.
