We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our Finance Team, supporting the CFO, you will be an integral part of the Finance Team and the wider Company's Management Team.
As well as taking the day to day responsibility for the Accounting Department you will also be expected to lead the Accounting Team to ensure stability and balance sheet integrity of RCI Bank UK and its subsidiary RCI Financial Services.
Main Responsibilities:
· Oversight of day to day accounting entries and maintenance of ledger
· Maintain and improve financial control processes identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
· Manage the relationship with external auditors during half year and year-end reviews
· Management of a team of 10

Special requirements
· Professional accountancy qualification (preferably ACA, ACCA)
· Strong knowledge of IFRS
· Familiarity with securitisations (ABS) with SPV would be a plus
· Knowledge of SAP FI
· Advanced Excel skills

- Elaboration of the local statutory accounts of the consolidated group and of the subsidiary
- Implement and maintain highest quality financial controls within the Finance team and throughout the business
- Develop, maintain and improve regular monthly/quarterly internal reporting. Ensure accurate and timely financial information is produced
· Oversight of day to day accounting entries and maintenance of ledger
· Maintain and improve financial control processes identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
· Manage the relationship with external auditors during half year and year-end reviews
- Interactions with local Senior Management, Board Audit Committee and support functions at the Head Office in France
· Management of a team of 10
Business specific drivers
- High volume and value transactions - car financing
- Multiple management systems integrating to SAP
- Pro-active/Hands on approach to understand the detail is essential
- Complex environment, systems and interdependent relationships with departments
- Complex regulatory and compliance environment with the banking license of the parent company RCI Bank
- Understand technical accounting schemes
- Balance sheet assets £4bn +
- First Level Controls; ensure robust controls and balance sheet integrity
Experience/Qualifications required
- Relevant and recent experience in Banking & Financial Services with an understanding of SMR
- Capable Manager with the drive and enthusiasm to deliver results in challenging circumstances
- Successful experience in driving change and simplifying processes
- Working knowledge of accounting processes
- Good understanding consumer lending or motor finance beneficial
- Ability to appraise complex issues and provide options for resolution in a dynamic environment
Special requirements
