Ignata Finance are delighted to be exclusively partnering HCI for the recruitment of their newly created Management Accountant position.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare profit and loss and cash flow forecast on monthly basis and highlight any cashflow, profit or expense issues to the senior management
  • Prepare financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
  • Validating and attesting to bookkeeping performed by the finance team members.
  • Checking accruals, prepayments and other month end journals and processing them if required. Checking supplier payment run and banking set-ups before authorizing them through the banking platform.
  • Send payroll changes to payroll provider and check payroll reports.
  • Reconciling sales against company's insurance system and processing cost of sales journals. Ensuring the balance sheet is fully reconciled at month end, particularly Insurer accounts.
  • Check insurer bordereau and broker statements and reconciling them against accounting system. Prepare quarterly VAT returns for two companies.
  • Strengthen internal finance controls and documenting all the key financial processes.
  • Work with financial controller and tidy up group structure and close unnecessary banks and companies.
  • Constantly reviewing company's cost base and recommending how the company can reduce its costs.
  • Work with financial controller and other department to develop KPIs and other reports, which can provide a deep insight into the company's performance.
  • Delivery of Operational and financial system synergies
  • Deputise for financial controller at senior meetings when required.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Part qualified or fully qualified accountant with any reputable professional body.
  • A good understanding of the general insurance sector and terminology
  • Over 4 years of strong accountancy experience with some experience gained in practice and commerce
  • Experience using Sage 50 or Sage 200
  • Strong excel skills and has previous experience of using Vlookup, Sumifs, Pivot tables and other data analysis functions • Excellent attention to detail and accountability
  • Proven track record preparing month end journals, management accounts, financial statements and VAT returns across a group structure
  • Proven track record reconciling complex balance sheets in multi-entity group structures
  • Must have multi-currency experience as receipt and payment made in circa 15 currencies
  • Some experience of setting up new system, migrating data over to new system and implement process improvements will be required.
  • A strong communicator able to explain financial matters to non-financial people
