AxiomSL is looking for a Senior Basel and EBA CRD (IV and V) specialised Business Analyst to join our Risk Solutions team in developing market leading software for Tier 1 banking clients and smaller institutions alike.

In this role, you should leverage experience in Capital and/or Liquidity regulatory reporting under Basel BCBS rules or region/country implementations such as CRD IV / V to write functional specifications and ensure our solution meets industry needs. If you are knowledgeable on Capital or Liquidity Risk management, calculations, modelling, and reporting, and are passionate about transforming business concepts into tangible requirements and robust solutions, we would like to meet you. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products are fully featured, accurate, intuitive and help our clients meet their analytical and regulatory reporting needs and beyond.

Requirements

  • Work with our Risk Products teams' Lead Business Analysts to define product features and functional requirements - interpreting CRD IV / V and other regulations, including capital and liquidity requirements calculations, COREP reporting requirements, etc
  • Articulating above mentioned regulations and necessary business processes into Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  • Write and review Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) that breakdown requirements into clear and cohesive business logic and designs (of cubes, dashboards, and other user interactions) which can serve as the business for software development
  • Interrogate and challenge business existing operational paradigms and business use cases to look for optimisations and improvements, incorporating these into requirements and specifications you produce
  • Collaborate with the Application Development team to ensure the functional goals of our software are always captured and business user experience is considered
  • Provide guidance on the creation of test scenarios to Quality Assurance team to ensure that the full suite of functional as well as non-functional use cases are validated
  • Review test case results and provide feedback, make necessary specification enhancements, or support code changes to address issues
  • Monitor regulatory updates and assess the impact and necessary updates to AxiomSL solutions
  • Monitor regulatory updates and industry trends to keep AxiomSL solutions at the forefront of the data management, risk management and regulatory reporting industries
  • Participate as SME support in sales and pre-sales, as well as providing SME input into marketing initiatives, driving the creation of publications, blogs, content for webinars and more.

Needs:
  • Strong knowledge and practical first-hand experience of CRR and CRR2 rules in either the Liquidity or Capital domains. E.g. Credit risk (EAD calculations, CRM, RWA - Standardised or IRB), Leverage Ratio, CVA, LCR and NSFR, LMT / ALMM, Asset Encumbrance
  • Strong knowledge of COREP reporting or similar risk reporting in another jurisdiction
  • A very good understanding of key banking products - bonds, loans, guarantees, collateral, repos, reverse repos, derivatives
  • Experience working as a business analyst in financial services (Asset Managers, Banks, Hedge funds, Brokerage Firms, Clearing companies) or related vendor in a Regulatory Risk/Compliance role/team
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory publications and write detailed functional documentation that clearly and comprehensively breaks down business requirements into articulate data inputs, processes and expected outputs/functionalities
  • Collaboration and communication aptitude necessary to share complex ideas succinctly and accurately both in written and verbal forms
  • Self-motivated attitude that allows the candidate to map out their own optimal path to achieve the goals articulated above whilst managing deadlines
  • Team player approach that leverages the knowledge and skills of others and work with those in the wider team and company to ensure we are greater than the sum of our parts
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following majors desirable: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Science, Mathematics or other aligned business and technology aligned subject matters
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Word, and MS Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure, provide accurate estimates, communicate and manage stakeholder expectations, and maintain a high degree of professionalism.


Great Additional, not required
  • Knowledge of recently introduced regulations at rule level such as SA-CCR and FRTB
  • Understanding of Software Development Methodologies (Agile, Waterfalls, etc)
  • Exposure to technical and data management concepts - e.g. experience performing analytics using SQL, R or similar
  • A sense of humour
