Looking for immediately available individuals for a Payroll Administrator role. The well-established manufacturing company is based in Vanderbijlpark and they are seeking someone with a high attention to detail, who is passionate about payroll and the ability to efficiently and accurately oversee, process and capture financial information. This individual will need to be strong in Payroll but also have an Accounting background so as to have the ability to help out the Finance team where needed. 

Overall responsibility:

Financial and clerical assistance in the finance department, Processing of payroll. 

Overall measure:

Effective, accurate and timely financial and clerical administration as per company policies, procedures and controls and within administrative guidelines and instructions (including instructions from management), Full payroll function and duties including the management of employee data, timesheets, and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.  


  • Daily management of the Company payroll using ERS and Pastel Payroll
  • Create and maintain employee and payroll manual
  • Prepare, document and manage payroll processes of all employees including but not limited to:
  • New hires and terminations
  • Payroll and employee documentation for payroll processing
  • The creation, management, maintenance and enforcement of payroll policies
  • Payroll processing
  • Investigations and incidents
  • Information and processes to assist the HR consultant
  • Obtain, manage, save, maintain and report on all payroll related data.
  • Prepare accurate, effective and timely payroll reports for the finance team and relevant external authorities:
  • Accurate capturing and tracking of leave balances
  • Review, re-calculate and correct the employee timesheet data and hours worked as per the physical registers and the company payroll policies.
  • Monthly (and biweekly) processing, calculating, reporting and payment of payroll
  • Provide accurate and timely payroll reports to the finance manager to meet deadlines and in line with Company policies
  • Monthly / annual declarations and submissions to SARS (PAYE, EMP501s etc)
  • Other submissions to external authorities including SARS, Department of labour, BEE certification etc
  • Print and/or provide employee payslips
  • Create, manage and update payroll and HR files and information on the Company drive and company database
  • Create, manage and maintain relevant database for BEE certification with specific reference to payroll and HR
  • Interact and liaise with employees regarding their payroll documentation and questions accurately and effectively
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times 
  • Accounts and General:

    • Provide accounting, finance and clerical support to the financial manager and finance department


    • Pastel Payroll
    • ERS Core Software
    • 5 - 10 years experience in payroll with a company that has more than 80 wage and salary workers
