Talbot are hiring a Assistant Syndicate Accountant to report regulatory, statutory and group returns together with supporting documentation and reconciliations. This role will p rovide support to the Syndicate team as required.

Key Responsibilities -

Daily/monthly reconciliations
  • Intra group QS settled direct reconciliation
  • Settled direct/ LDR reconciliations
  • Preparation of the month end net data reconciliation and coordination of the resolution of material differences
  • Cover for Bank reconciliations
  • Cover for Investment posting


AIG Group/Talbot Group reporting
  • Preparation of Ultimate, written and earned intragroup premium and associated settled direct reconciliations, liaising with Reinsurance team and Validus intragroup colleagues
  • Completion of Group Supplement and financial disclosures
  • Preparation of Talbot Group elimination journals on quarterly basis


Lloyd's /UK reporting
  • Lloyd's regulatory and statutory returns. Including Solvency II returns.
    • AIG Group disclosures
    • QMA & QMB
    • MAS return for Singapore office
    • US Situs Quarterly regulatory returns (Annually Schedule F&P)
    • Canadian Quarterly regulatory returns
    • Statutory Accounts Annual
    • US SIS tax returns
    • CAN SIS tax returns
    • UK and Singapore tax returns


Other responsibilities
  • Preparation of quarterly audit files.
  • Assisting in the preparation and evidencing of relevant Internal and SOX controls performed on monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Assisting with preparation of quarterly analytics.
  • Liaising with auditors regarding regulatory & statutory returns and SOX controls.
  • Assist with preparation of all other Regulatory, Statutory and adhoc reporting as required.


Skills & Qualifications
  • Lloyd's market experience preferred
  • Insurance experience preferred
  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA desirable
  • Intermediate Excel skills essential
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Numerate and strong analytical skills
