The Role:
• Provision of cohesive, timely, and accurate reporting, analysis and insight of financials to add real commercial value to the business, ensuring that optimum decisions are made.
• Ensure consistent approach to all commercial reporting across NL Brand, aligning International and UK & ROI where appropriate.
• Constructively challenging and re-evaluating reporting requirements to improve efficiency and commerciality.
• Support the other members of the team on many other ad hoc projects adding commercial value to the business.
• Offer analysis, insight, and opinion to support the optimisation of Retail trading performance.
• Assist in the production of accurate and timely monthly store-level reporting for store use e.g. P&Ls, KPI Scorecards
• Develop strong and trustworthy relationships with all Retail customers ensuring full understanding of financial performance and metrics.
• Ad hoc report production and support to other analysts within the team as and when required.
• Responsible for maintaining adjustments to retail sales targets to ensure accurate retail reporting.
• Develop strong and trustworthy relationship with the Central Ops team to ensure effective communication around reporting and incentives
• Develop strong and trustworthy relationship with the BI team to ensure an understanding of the detail behind the reports and processes around automating
• Production of insightful retail incentive analysis with a focus on offering 'analysis' rather than 'data'.
About You:
• Ability to de-mystify financial performance and provide clear and concise reporting and analysis resulting in balanced guidance and judgement.
• Clear written, oral, and presentational communication skills.
• Excellent PC skills to include Excel, Powerpoint, and databases.
• Comprehensive and fully developed understanding of commercial, financial, and operational metrics.
• Continued re-evaluation and development of financial reporting and analysis.
• Open and receptive to new ideas and concepts
• Relevant practical experience gathered across roles in a broad profit-driven business context would be an advantage.
• Ideally Part-qualified accountant or studied a relevant Finance/Business qualification
Understanding of the financial implications of decisions and can make sound recommendations accordingly.
