PwC’s Competency Centre supports the external audit business across the UK in order to audit key areas of a company’s financial statements and understand every aspect of a client’s activities. It’s important work that enhances how companies are run, playing a significant role in ensuring the reliability and relevance of business information.You’ll be working with audit teams across the UK to provide insight and value through performing a variety of essential audit duties. This will include validating information such as invoices and bank statements against underlying client records, checking the accuracy of a client’s financial information, communicating any findings/issues with the data provided and applying PwC audit best practice and testing strategies.The roleAs a Manager in Nexus, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Pursuing opportunities to develop existing and new skills outside of comfort zoneActing to resolve issues which prevent effective team working, even during times of change and uncertaintyCoaching others and encouraging them to take ownership of their developmentAnalysing complex ideas or proposals and building a range of meaningful recommendationsUsing multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendationsAddressing substandard work or work that does not meet firm's/client's expectationsDeveloping a perspective on key global trends, including globalisation, and how they impact the firm and our clientsManaging a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all partiesFocusing on building trusted relationshipsUpholding the firm's code of ethics and business conductAct as an internal technical (and operational) expert for the activity, including resolving Competency Centre team member consultations and escalations
- Be a Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA/ ICAS qualified (or international equivalent)
Or have equivalent work experience in Audit (international candidates who technically qualify in their home country by experience)Have experience of management of the audit from planning to supervision and review of the processHave flexibility in your approach to meeting goals as part of the teamHave the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients at all levelsHave a proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong relationshipsTake a proactive approach to problem solving and delivering client solutionsYou will have experience of interacting with senior level clients and management to develop and maintain business relationships
