Your Opportunity

We are working with a well-known leading organisation that directly impacts the future of thousands of Queenslanders across our community daily.

Working directing with senior leadership this is a permanent, and rare opportunity for a Finance Manager to directly influence and drive change within an established organization.

You will receive the full support of a highly experienced, and approachable leader; they are down-to-earth with a strong background behind them operating in previous senior roles. More importantly, is that they are the one who is directly driving the need for change so you will have their complete buy-in from day one.

The role has a broad range of duties which include the preparation and presentation of all Statutory Returns including FBT, BAS, and Payroll Tax. You will be working on the development of annual budgets, providing detail analysis to determine trends and patterns, forecasts, and financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

You will be expected to use your experience to provide strategic foresight to support the ongoing development of various operational plans

As well as being hands-on with financial responsibilities you will be expected to be a driver of change. The business has strong ambitions to improve various elements of the finance function, so they are looking for someone who is system savvy, is excited by change and, has an affinity for digital transformation.

In the initial stages of your new position, you will sit with senior leaders to map out critical areas of the business for attention and work out a plan to tackle competing priorities. You will then immerse yourself in the business, forming relationships across the company but also building a strong rapport and gaining the trust of your immediate team

About You

You will be a CA / CPA qualified accountant with previous experience in a commercial position. Exposure to PowerBI would be helpful, alternatively, you must have a desire and willingness to learn.

As important as any qualification is your ability to be a leader within the business. You will be managing a small team with varying experience who will look to you as a leader and not just a manager. Therefore, we want someone who wants to immerse themselves into the business and be hands-on; in fact, at some point you will even run a payroll so you can gain an understanding of how the business operates.

Given that the business will look to you to be deeply involved with any change, it is essential that you possess strong people skills to enable you to articulate to all levels of the business how the change will impact them and more importantly, how it will benefit them. You will be a self-motivated individual who values personal and professional development.

Our client has a diverse and inclusive workforce, with a strong focus on culture. The right person for this role will benefit from joining a company where people enjoy coming to work.
