What will the apprentice be doing?
Assist with a wide range of internal audit reviews within agreed timescales, across all areas of the business and client base.
Support with preparing reports detailing both findings and recommendations in a written professional report format.
To ensure that all work is carried out to a high professional level in accordance with Public Sector Internal Audit Standards.
Assist in carrying out investigations and enquiries, into irregularities and suspected fraudulent activity both internal and external to the client base.
To assist with data gathering, analysis and interpretation through face to face, email and other forms of data gathering practises used in the organisation.
To play a part in the growth, promotion and development of the audit service.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful candidate will receive on the job training and will be supported to complete the L4 Audit Practitioner Standard.
You will be supported by experienced staff who can assist you with your work and study to give you the experience to apply for other roles within the council. You will also be trained to use various IT systems that support the efficient delivery of our services.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
