Renaissance Advisers is recruiting a Bookkeeper for its partner, Terra Nova Solutions ("TNS"), a dynamic and growing professional services company based in West Africa.

We support our clients' success by providing trusted, timely and flexible finance, administration, and advisory services tailored to their unique needs and operating environment. We also leverage deep networks in West Africa to connect our clients with a constellation of trusted local service providers to further empower their businesses.

We are growing quickly and seeking an ambitious, entrepreneurial, early to mid-career bookkeeping professional to collaborate with our growing practice. TNS is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to support financial management and reporting functions for TNS' clients.

The role will involve working with a close-knit team to provide bookkeeping functions in support of our clients across a range of industries in various West African jurisdictions. The candidate will play a central role supporting TNS clients and the finance and accounting practice's deliverables.

Core roles of the candidate include:
  • Maintenance of financial accounts and transaction records, including review, posting and reconciliation.
  • Effective and use of financial accounting software to log transactions in accordance with designated chart of accounts and client accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintenance and balancing of general ledger, performance of reconciliations.
  • Preparation of financial reports, analysis, and summaries.
  • Assistance with payroll, payables, receivables, and cash management functions.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, legislation and TNS and client policies and procedures.
  • Completion of tax and statutory filing materials.
  • Managing bank reconciliations.
  • Supporting the external audit, budgeting, and financial statement preparation process.
  • Monitoring and assessment of client internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Oversight, review, and error spotting in accounting software and in client-prepared financial materials.
  • Support of year-end and month-end close procedures.
  • Such other tasks as may be required by TNS or clients from time-to-time.

  • Please note that the standard working hours for this role are 11:00 to 20:00 hours PKT. Work outside of these hours may be required from time-to-time, including accommodating West African business hours in the GMT time zone.
