Taxperts, the professional tax accountants and mortgage brokers located in Clayton, Point Cook and Narre Warren are providing services in tax accounting, book keeping, financial planning, super fund management for individuals and corporate clients, property development projects as well as home and investment loan assistance. We are looking for a qualified, experienced Full time Taxation Accountant to join our team at Clayton Office.

Full Time Tax Accountant

$50,000 to $70,000 plus SUPERANNUATION

Duties & responsibilities


  • Preparation of Tax Returns, Instalment Activity Statement (IAS), Business Activity Statements (BASs) reports for individual and business clients.
  • Formulate and review of annual financial reports for business clients using Software Assistant, Xero and QuickBooks, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss and General Ledger Reconciliations and liaise with clients for the same.
  • Preparation of Annual GST Return for clients.
  • Devise Pay As You Go (PAYG) summary for business client's employers and employees.
  • Business Structure formations - Company and Trusts.
  • Represent clients and coordinate with ATO in relation to various Tax and GST compliance issues.
  • Preparation of Payroll, Superannuation and computation of Payroll Tax for business clients.
  • Assess and scrutinize all the information acquired from clients for accuracy, reliability and meeting the accounting standards before performing any actions.
  • Adhere to accounting standards and Australian Taxation Office ("ATO") rulings regarding general accounting, financial reporting, payroll, capital gains tax and property tax to prepare Individual, Company and Trust Tax Return.
  • Provide taxation advice based on client's information.
  • Evaluate and advise on financial and investment portfolio.
  • Coordinate with financial institutions for loan arrangements for clients.
  • Assist in due diligence and audit assistance for clients.
  • Supervise and train accounting interns on tax related matters and operational procedures.

Skills and selection criteria:
  • Minimum 2+ years' relevant experience
  • Relevant Bachelor Degree or higher
  • Experience with Xero and QuickBooks
  • Demonstrated knowledge with accounting standards and Australian Taxation Office ("ATO") rulings
  • Previous experience in training accounting interns on tax related matters and operational procedures.
  • A strong client service focus
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a professional team focussed on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work to deadlines with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
