There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK's largest house builders. Our Head Office located in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking to recruit a 'Group Accountant & Treasury Manager' to join the Group Finance Department.

The Role

The role of 'Group Accountant & Treasury Manager' will report to the Group Finance Manager.

Principal accountabilities of the role include:

Treasury
  • Detailed weekly and monthly consolidated cashflow forecasting analysis, requiring interrogation of divisional reporting and liaising with divisional Finance Directors to ensure the accuracy of forecasting
  • Assist in the management of the Group's debt relationships and facilities (bank and US Private Placement), including covenant reporting, quarterly updates, refinancing, renewals and bank charges
  • Responsible for the Group's day to day treasury activities including facility requirements, and general banking administration (e.g. mandates, opening/closing bank accounts)
  • Preparation and management of the actual, budget and forecast income statement and cashflow for all treasury related costs
  • Preparation of all internal and external treasury reporting

Financial reporting
  • Preparation of elements of the group consolidated accounts
  • Review of half-year and year end group consolidated financial information including consolidation adjustments
  • Liaising with external advisors
  • Reviewing and enhancing the Group's systems and controls
  • Assisting the Group Finance Manager in group-wide finance projects
  • Producing other ad-hoc financial reports for management

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with strict reporting deadlines
  • Treasury experience is desirable
  • Experience of working in the listed environment is desirable
  • Experience of working with construction or housebuilding is desirable

Qualifications and Training
  • ACA qualified
  • An existing treasury qualification is not necessary, but we would support a qualification for the right candidate

Skills and Aptitude
  • Sound communication and listening skills
  • IT literate, with high proficiency in Excel and the ability to adapt to new systems
  • Data analysis skills; the ability to manipulate, organise and analyse large data sets
  • Good administration skills
  • Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team
  • Confident communicating information to non-financial employees and senior stakeholders
  • Proactive attitude to problem solving and willingness to undertake work of all levels
  • Strong desire to continue learning
