Our client is a privately business in the healthcare sector with operations across the UK and US. Due to a period of unprecedented growth, there is currently an opening for an ambitious and enthusiastic 'Project Accountant' to work in their friendly finance team. ACCA or CIMA Part qualified or Finalist the successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter, used to a fast paced environment and will already have a fundamental understanding of financial transactions; and have experience of or an interest in transitioning over into commercial accounting.
Strong excel and excellent communication skills are pre-requisites.
Remit:
The project accountant role supports the account management team to monitor the performance of projects including variances to budget and billing. The role leads month end revenue recognition and forecasting and reporting to support commercial decision making. This requires excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Core duties include:
* Create and maintain project accounting master data
* Maintain appropriate access to project records in the project management system (CMAPS)
* Monitor and maintain project-related records, including contracts, SOWsa and purchase orders
* Review and approve all project budgets in accordance with company policy to ensure compliance with agreed client pricing structures
* Lead monthly financial review meeting with account management teams to assess project progress
* Review month end WIP and revenue recognition figures and investigate any variances
* Approve and posts revenue recognition and WIP journals onto the accounting system
* Reconciliations
* Review and approve purchase orders for project expenditure
* Proactively manage project-related billings
The Requirement:
* Part qualified CIMA, ACCA ideally with experience of project accounting or business partnering
* Excellent IT Skills including Excel
* Very good organisational skills and strong attention to detail
* First class communication skills
* Used to working in a fast-paced environment
