Position Purpose

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day ownership of all general ledger entries relating to the revenue of BNP Paribas Securities Services ("BNPPSS") and its subsidiaries. Working closely across the local and regional Finance department they will also be responsible for the pre and post accounting close processes relating to the production of the trial balance(s) for use by various teams.

He/She contributes to the review, maintenance and optimization of reporting production.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  • In charge of Revenues (accruals booking, invoices booking, Forex) for specifies entities
  • In charge of various manual entries related to bonds, swaps and term deposits
  • Preparation of monthly reporting for unpaid invoices and unbilled revenues. Following up with the business to clear aged items
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly trial balance for delivery to Performance Steering, Regional Reporting and Control Teams
  • Preparation of commentary supporting movements within trial balances
  • Contribution to Transfer Pricing Agreements and Service Level Agreements and settlement management
  • Production of the provisions dashboard and associated controls responses
  • Completion of controls reporting / responses
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations for entities in scope
  • Dormant accounts review
  • Collation of various reports for submission
  • Monthly account justification for control purposes
  • Acts as cover for other team members during periods of annual leave
  • Ad-hoc queries

Experience and Qualifications required

Required:

  • Strong technical knowledge, including IFRS
  • Good understanding of financial products, controls and risk assessment implications
  • Good understanding of business line profitability calculations - client profitability, trading P&L
  • Solid systems knowledge
  • Budgeting experience


Qualifications

Required:
  • Tertiary education with good results (distinction or higher).

Preferred:
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Practising Accountant.
