Job role
I'm working with one of my favourite hedge funds to find the latest addition to a newly formed Treasury Operations function. This hedge fund has grown exponentially constantly diversifying and adding new business lines; they are one of the most successful launches in the last 5 years. As they scale up there is a need to create specialist teams with concentrated knowledge and the financing needs of the fund have become so large that they need a dedicated support function.

The role is effectively maintaining the engine room of the fund; understanding complex cash movements and ensuring liquidity is always where it needs to be at the right time. You will Monitor initial margin requirements across trading agreements and understand changes in initial margin and provide commentary on what is driving the change. You will Instruct and capture movements of cash to cover variation margin requirements across all our trading agreements. You will ensure good value settlement of all cash and non-cash movements and following up on settlement status where warranted and understand the constituents of treasury funding balances to ensure treasury is funding the correct amount. You will also monitor intraday liquidity across our fixed income clearing accounts to ensure we have enough equity on account to make good value on external wires. Because this is a new function there is also lots of project work to be done and constant evaluation of best practice.

This is a mid-level role and we are looking for someone exceptionally analytical with a degree such as Maths or engineering. Ideally, you'll have some experience in a similar cash management type function such as collateral or liquidity from either an investment bank or another hedge fund. Programming skills would be a distinct advantage.

Please email your CV as soon as possible to harriet.smith@goodmanmasson.com if you meet the above criteria.
