Nexford University (NXU) is looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to manage financial reporting and analysis in partnership with various stakeholders across the company.

This mid-manager level role provides an opportunity to work at a fast-growing ambitious startup with a strong mission to make higher education more affordable and relevant across the world. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a solid reporting and analysis background and the desire to bring innovation to a finance function.

The FBP will manage traditional accounting and finance responsibilities but more importantly will partner with various executives across the organization to develop meaningful and insightful reporting which informs decision making. You will need to build an in-depth understanding of the business, its operations, and its unique business model and think beyond the traditional accounting scope.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage external accountants and advisors to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Produce insightful analysis and reporting on unit economic performance and ROAS with a view to maximizing productivity
  • Support with financial reporting including cash flow, budgeting, revenue and expense reporting
  • Manage vendor relations and work with them to achieve favorable commercial terms.
  • Manage global accounts payable working with the rest of the Nexford team
  • Liaison with UK & US payroll providers
  • Lead on the deployment of tools to automate finance processes and increase efficiency, in partnership with tech and product teams.


The ideal candidate:

  • Graduate of bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics or any equivalent
  • Startup experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Experience with managing finance for online businesses is essential
  • Certified Accountant is a must
  • 5 to 10 years of Financial Reporting and Analysis, Accounting, Audit experience
  • Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is a must
  • Experience working in an international, startup organization, preferred
  • Excellent Excel skills (Advanced with familiarity in using Analytical tools)
  • Strong command of software tools and tech-savvy to work with new and modern tools.

  • Solid knowledge of accounting regulations in the UK and US - essential

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and lead others through change and new strategic initiatives
  • Effective presentation skills
