What you'll be doing

The Senior Financial Accountant will act as the second in charge to the Manager Financial Accounting and directly contributes to the Local Health District (LHD) meeting its financial management and reporting requirements through managing the reporting, treasury, assets accounting and general ledger control.

The position will lead the effective and efficient operation of the Ledger Control functions of the LHD and the achievement of its Performance Agreement with the Ministry of Health. The position ensures the accounting records of LHD are maintained in accordance with the Financial Accounting Standards, The Accounts and Audit Determination, the Ministry of Health Accounting Manual for Public Hospitals and LHD policies and procedures.

The Senior Financial Accountant will contribute to the implementation of ongoing change and reform programs to improve financial management and reporting systems. The incumbent will provide high level technical and strategic advice to the Manager Financial Accounting and other members of the Finance team.
