Description:
Are you passionate about solving business problems based on data? Amazon Employee Services is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team and help unlock insights which take our business to the next level. The ideal candidate will be excited about using data to understand and improve our operations/business partners experience with services provided. They will be curious and comfortable digging deep into data to understand metrics, identifying insights that will enable us to improve data integrity, and deliver/present recommended solutions based on data and root causes. They will be able to retrieve, integrate, visualize and present critical data in a format that is immediately useful to improve the business decision-making process and improve services provided. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities as well as an outstanding business acumen. The ideal candidate can leverage a variety of data platforms and analytical tools to provide a holistic view of the customer experience and can partner with operations/business leaders to understand their requirements and provide data which uncovers patterns and spot anomalies.

Responsibilities:
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards on key drivers of our business
• Partner with operations/business teams to consult, develop and implement metrics, automated reporting/process solutions, and data infrastructure improvements to meet business needs
• Work with a variety of data sources and complex data sets, pulling data using efficient query development and providing a holistic and consistent view of the data
• Prepare and deliver business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks
• Analyze historical segmentation data to identify trends and insights
• Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions
• Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
• Actively manage the timeline and deliverables of projects, anticipate risks and resolve issues
• Additional responsibilities as needed

Basic Qualifications:
• BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Finance, Statistics or related field
• 5+ years as a Business Analyst
• 3+ years' advanced SQL experience to access data and transform into insights
• 3+ years' experience working with complex data sets in data warehouse environments
• 3+ years' experience translating loosely defined business questions into clearly defined technical/data specifications

Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years developing end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions: ETL and reporting
• Hands-on Python experience
• Advanced technical or business degree (MS or MBA)
• Experience with data visualization tools like Quicksight, Tableau or similar BI tools
• Be self-driven and able to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete data
• A proven record of taking ownership and driving resolution
• An ability and interest in working in a fast-paced, ambiguous and rapidly-changing environment
