Job Description

Overview

This role entails providing Financial Reporting specific Accounting support to Link Fund Solutions boutique fund managers. The Financial Reporting Accountant will report directly to the Fund Accounting Account Managers.

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of general and special purpose accounts for retail and wholesale managed investment funds across 80 entities (funds and corporate entities) to ensure timely delivery of financial reports using Onesource accounts preparation software
  • Liaising with auditors, clients, internal and external parties - update timetables, answering audit and client queries with assistance from the team, processing audit and client changes and assisting with preparation / finalisation of the accounts
  • Assisting with preparation / review of daily, weekly and monthly unit prices if required
  • Assisting with preparation and review of distributable income calculations and BAS for managed investment funds if required
  • Training and providing feedback to staff


Experience & Personal Attributes

  • The successful candidate will have 3-5 years' previous experience within the Fund accounting environment preferably with a custodian, administrator, fund manager or auditing firm.
  • CA/CPA qualified or partially qualified
  • At least 3 years of prior experience including preparation and review of financial reports
  • Experience in funds management as an accountant or auditor would be a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret Accounting Standards
  • Motivated, 'hands-on' person with initiative, an inquisitive mind and a willingness to deal with any number of tasks which need attention
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills as a large portion of the role involves interaction with both internal and external parties
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to work to / co-ordinate conflicting deadlines, pick up work and shift priorities to assist with meeting team deadlines
  • Competent Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word user and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Prior experience with Onesource or any accounts preparation software would be a plus
