An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a rapid-growth Retail business based in central London.

My client is a pre-IPO retail business based in central London.

Description

This position will support the transition of a small business with a modest finance function to be fit for a public company listing.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the following:

Initial priorities

• Implement a slick month-end process, right first time
• Roll out cost centre structure
• Automation of key activities using their current system - Xero

Day-today responsibilities

• Responsible for the accuracy of all management reporting in a timely manner
• Work alongside Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff to ensure accuracy of postings and underlying financial data
• Oversee and deliver balance sheet reconciliations
• Liaise with all departments to understand financial implications of proposals and contracts
• Roll out cost centre structure within business and ensure it is operated correctly
• Develop and refine management board packs
• Assist CFO in annual budgeting process
• Continue to develop and maintain strong financial control environment
• Identify and implement areas for further operational improvements (e.g. systems integration and automation)
• Coach other members of the finance team in best practice
• Ad Hoc analysis and projects as required

Profile

The successful Financial Controller will have the following credentials:

• Professional finance qualification - ACA/CIMA/ACCA - must be qualified
• Circa 4/5 years PQE
• Strong experience/confidence with the month-end process
• Experience within the retail sector desirable but not essential
• Experience reporting to IFRS desirable but not essential
• Can-do attitude
• Comfortable working in the office 5 days a week

Job Offer

Generous basic salary of between £65,000 to £70,000 + discretionary bonus & benefits
