Our Corporate Finance (M&A Advisory and Equity Capital Markets) franchise offers a strong combination of deep local market knowledge and extensive cross-border and sector-specific expertise. In the UK, we provide integrated financial solutions to ING's corporate and institutional client base across a broad range of industry sectors, namely focusing on International M&A Advisory in Oil, Gas & Commodities, Utilities & Renewables, TMT, Transportation & Logistics and Infrastructure as well as Trustee Services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

Role Description:

Professional level staff at entry level and for first 3-4 years.
  • Activities can be either transaction oriented or in support of marketing. A significant portion of time is spent on due diligence, document processing, financial / statistical analysis under the direct supervision of a VP or Associate.
  • More senior analysts begin to develop models and analysis more independently as they transition towards Associate level. They are able to handle some small transaction situations independently, but will require assistance with large size or special situation transactions.


Core Tasks & Material Responsibilities:
  • Origination (a) drafting marketing materials including pitch books and presentations (b) detailed analysis of targets including valuation (c) market research and competitor analysis.
  • Deal execution (a) valuation and financial analysis (b) key transaction administration (dataroom, Q&A, meeting coordination etc) (c) Day-to-Day process coordination and communication with clients and other advisers (d) Assist in the drafting of transaction documentation (e) Processing of documents for internal project approvals.


Monitoring sector information and collection of market data and dynamics on an annual rotating basis in support of Corporate Finance UK's Sector teams and under the stewardship of a Buddy (usually an Associate).

Each Analyst will be a core member of a Business Management Workstream for Corporate Finance UK.

Candidate Profile

Qualification/Education
  • Essential: Bachelors Degree
  • Desirable: Masters Degree inclusive of relevant internships


Experience/Knowledge
  • Essential: Relevant internship(s) in a corporate & investment banking context (or equivalent Graduate Programme rotation)
  • Desirable: Previous knowledge / 6-12 months in M&A


Personal Competencies
  • Essential: Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential; Fluency in English required; Strong research, problem solving, and analytical skills; Team player who enjoys a high performance culture, strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
  • Desirable: Strong financial modelling & valuation skills; another European language
