Description

The purpose of the Group Accountant

To prepare management and statutory accounts accurately and to agreed timescales, actively manage the ledgers including control account reconciliations, VAT and loan covenant reporting, and to provide support to the wider Finance team.

Core responsibilities (but not limited to)

• Prepare management accounts and reporting
• Prepare annual statutory accounts, including iXBRL tagging
• Support the audit and respond to audit queries
• Prepare VAT reporting
• Prepare loan covenant reporting
• Prepare of head rent calculations
• Calculation of intercompany interest and distributions
• Complete control account reconciliations, ensure transactions are accurately recorded and the ledgers remain in good order at all times
• Prepare cash flow forecasts
• Support the Group consolidation and reporting
• Review purchase ledger invoices to ensure accurate coding
• Process payments and transfers as required
• Promptly and accurately respond to enquiries

• Provide any other reporting, analysis and support to the Finance team as may be required

Profile

The successful Group Accountant will have the following credentials:

• Professional finance qualification - ACA/CIMA/ACCA
• Strong academic background
• Experience with real estate and property/construction would be highly advantageous
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a small team
