Job summary
The Resource Analyst is responsible for providing consistent support across business portfolios: Headcount Planning, Resource Financial Analys and operational activities related to Data Maintenance. It is also responsible for delivering dynamic reports for decision making at director level.
Key responsibilities
The Resource Analyst is responsible for end to end resource management for their area of focus within IT Services. This includes:
- Managing the relationship with their area of focus — providing focused resource management
- Headcount Financial Planning/Forecasting/Actuals/ Utilization Analysis
- Resource Data Maintenance and Contractors Management
- Requisitions Management: New Openings and Backfills
- Resource Scheduling and Allocation
- Inter-Firm and Contractors invoice review
- Drive external resource sourcing process for area of focus
The Resource Analyst will interface closely with Service Delivery Leaders, Managers and Team Leads, Project Managers and other key stakeholders within IT Services.
Experience/Skill requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent work experience
- 3 to 5 years in a corporate IT environment
- 1 to 3 years of experience in PMO or program/project management, recruiting or other relevant experience
- Other relevant experience in a related technical field (application development, deployment/implementation and infrastructure)
- Resource management experience
- Experience of using flexible souring options to staff projects
- Work experience in a professional services industry, preferred
- Flexible. Able to manage multiple demands efficiently and effectively
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good facilitation skills — able to conduct meetings with senior stakeholders and manage negotiations
- Knowledge of IT Services organizational structure to facilitate situations where resources are required from teams outside of area(s) of focus
- Good understanding of IT Services offerings, technical standards and policies
- Ability to recognize cultural differences and lead virtual cross team discussions
- Experience of working with external resource vendors
- Knowledge and experience using resource planning tools
- Knowledge in creating job specifications
- Experience in reviewing candidate CV’s
- A good understanding of IT Services would be an advantage
Analytical/Decision making responsibilities
- Proactively identify and address resourcing challenges
- Effectively prioritize workload
- Anticipate possible resourcing issues before they occur, identify possible solutions, work with team to implement solutions
- Make decisions based upon solid understanding of IT Services principles, Firm and business objectives and project needs
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and priorities
- Good stakeholder management
- Attention to detail
- Provides resource planning process guidance to stakeholders, process users and members of the team
Qualifications
A relevant program/project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMI) preferred
- Exercises influence at many levels of the organization
- Requires minimal to no supervision
- Expected to have regular contact with Service Delivery Function IT Program Management Office Manager or Senior Resource Planner
- Expected to work independently
- Expected to participate in internal process improvement initiatives
- Experience in gathering resource requirements, understanding the need and formulating the skills required
Technical Skills:
- Solid Microsoft product knowledge, Word, Powerpoint
- Strong excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- Knowledge of Retain and Lotus Notes a plus
