Your new company
Our client is a local government department in the Bay of Plenty.

Your new role
Reporting to the Team Leader for Growth Funding in the broader City & Infrastructure Planning Team, you will be responsible for sourcing project funding and financing for the large amount of new transport, waters, parks & reserves and community facility infrastructure required to manage Tauranga's ongoing growth and development.

You will also be involved in testing the commercial feasibility of different growth options from a developer's perspective to ensure land use planning and infrastructure investment will align with development outcomes delivered by the private sector.

This role involves complex financial and legal negotiations for large scale infrastructure programmes valued in the tens and hundreds of millions of dollars. This is a senior technical role in the organisation and you will have a high degree of 'ownership' over your workstreams but at the same time will be able to rely on significant support from your Team Leader, the Group's senior management structure and from the finance team.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualification in business management, finance, law or other related area
  • At least 6 years experience in growth management, city planning, infrastructure planning, finance, funding or legal
  • High level of financial literacy and commercial acumen
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to bring multiple parties together to develop solutions
  • Advanced analytical, reasoning and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, growing area.
Due to current border restrictions, applicants must be a NZ citizen or permanent resident.

What you'll get in return
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be a part of shaping the future infrastructure for Tauranga City. This is a role where you will be a part of the whole journey and work with experts along the way to reach favourable solutions and implement change. You will work in a collaborative and supportive environment with professionals from a variety of backgrounds that are working to achieve a shared goal. You will enjoy flexible working options, 5 weeks annual leave per year and a competitive salary package.
