The role is a Management Accountant role reporting to the Financial Controller, which will be partially working from the office and home. It is for a large exciting company with a variety of opportunities and benefits.

Description

Key responsibilities include:

· Be responsible for the preparation of the reporting packs and management accounts including consolidation, and all other reporting requested by Head Office and Division. Ensure information is accurate, timely, complete and appropriate for purpose with a focus on high quality and accuracy;

· Providing support for the generation of the monthly P&L forecast.

· Reporting and analysis variance to forecast and budget expectations.

· Supporting the Finance Department in continuously improving the Company's financial controls and reporting systems

· In conjunction with the Financial Controller, educate line and project managers to ensure that correct financial procedures are followed and that all areas of the business understand the financial implications of their decisions.

· To assist in managing the company's project accounting responsibilities especially sales and margin recognition.

· To manage the co-ordination and preparation all management accounting information in relation to month end submissions.

· Supporting the preparation and completion of the Trial Balance, BPC schedules (monthly, half year, annual and budget) and the Head Office reporting pack.

· To assist in the generation and co-ordination of the monthly forecast for review with the VP Finance and Financial Controller.

· Maintain an effective Cash Flow forecast by monitoring Programme invoicing and ensuring effective Credit Control and Debtor management.

· Liaising with internal and external customers including HMRC and internal and external auditors, where appropriate.

· In conjunction with the Head of Operations, Innovation and Technology and Business Development Directors, perform monthly reviews and forecasts for Stock, R&D and Bids & Proposals.

· Supporting the preparation of the Year End packs and maintaining Finance Department procedures.

· Support SCM in the management of inventory and determining suitable reserves.

Profile

· Recognised professional accounting qualification or training towards accounting qualification

· Experienced in the defence contracting industry and government contracting regulations.

· Ability to meet deadlines and manage varying workload.

· Ability to problem solve independently and as part of a team.

· Experience in forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis.

· IT literate - Microsoft, finance and management accounting systems, ERP systems - IFS experience would be advantageous
