A globally renowned sports and media business in central London are recruiting a Financial Accountant to join their growing team.
The Financial Accountant will report into the Head of Finance and take ownership of the production of financial reports and accounting for media entities across the business.
The Role:
- Responsible for period end accounting for multiple companies, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements for Media entities
- Contribute to achieving controllership goals & objectives, with specific reference to Internal controls & SOX compliance
- Participate & assist with the annual audit
- Assist in the preparation and submission of quarterly and yearly reporting & tax packs
- Assist with the preparation of cashflow forecasts
- Responsible for period end accounting
- Responsible for quarterly financial planning and analysis for overhead costs in Media entities
- Ad-hoc project work as required
The Candidate:
- Solid knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102/101) or IFRS/US GAAP
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (financial closure, reporting etc gained from practice or industry)
- Confident and flexible team player with the ability to work with all levels across the business
- Must be able to plan and organise work to meet deadlines and determine priorities.
- Must be able to work on own initiative to identify problem areas
- Good Excel skills
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion or background in media or sports (gained from practice or industry) is highly desirable
