Group Accountant

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a highly innovative and progressive manufacturing business in Chesterfield as they look to appoint a Group Accountant for their head office function.

Established for over 70 years and operating across multiple sites globally, this is an organisation that can offer a real diverse skill set to the successful candidate due to the operational business structure and the projects that are created on the back of this.

The Group Accountant will report straight to the Finance Director and will be a key member of the global finance team with responsibility for collating and consolidating all aspects of Group financial reporting. It will be a varied role comprising of the following elements:

Reporting

* Timely and accurate financial reporting * Collation and circulation of subsidiary management accounts * Preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts * Providing information and ad-hoc analysis for group reporting purposes * Strict adherence to deadlines

Performance review

* Preparation of financial information for the Quarterly BRM * Report Group financial KPI's and trends Planning & Budgeting * Coordinate and consolidate annual budgets across subsidiaries * Maintain and update financial forecast model quarterly * Create financial models to assess Group investments and strategic plans

Financial Controls & Risk

* Ensuring Group companies follow the correct accounting standards * Safeguarding the company's assets against fraud or misuse * Create and monitor internal controls for high-risk areas such as payroll, payments and borrowings * Liaise with Group Auditor for annual audit and tax * Co-ordinate subsidiary audits to ensure timely completion

Working Capital & Cashflow

* Ensure timely payment of management charges and dividends to H.O. * Ensure intra-group balances are agreed monthly between subsidiaries * Report on intra-Group Debtor and Creditor overdue performance * Report on Group cashflow and cash/bank balances and borrowings * Report on Group currency risk exposure Improvement * Drive improvements in the quality and timeliness of subsidiary reporting * Identify opportunities to improve company performance and drive greater insight * Improve department effectiveness through IT reporting tools

People and Team

* Finance colleagues in all subsidiaries * UK finance colleagues * Senior Managers & Company Owners * External: Auditors, Tax authorities

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

* CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA Qualified with at at least 3-4 years experience in a similar role * Group Consolidation experience is essential * Candidates who trained within the profession and gained some experience already in industry would be ideal * Budgeting and Forecasting experience is essential * Self-starter with the drive to pick up projects and run with them without close guidance * Good manager of time and ability to multi-task to deliver a variety of work streams to deadlines * Highly numerate and analytical * Strong problem solver and investigative nature * Advanced MS Excel and presentation skills * Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with a wide variety of people of all levels of seniority * Ability to challenge * Willingness to Travel as the role will require the post holder to travel to other global subsidiaries 2-4 weeks of the year (Combined across the year)
