My client are looking for an Assistant Accountant to report in to the Head of Finance, who will be responsible for including the ownership for the Accounts Receivable function across the Group, weekly cash flow forecasting and month end reporting. This role provides the candidate with an opportunity to develop within a growing business.

Client Details

My client based in Central London, provides royalty tracking services, cue sheet reporting and programme metadata management to Broadcasters, collecting societies and other media companies worldwide, including Sky, National Geographic, Discovery, ITV and the BBC. It is part of a group structure related to media and technology.

Description

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Assist Head of Finance with revenue forecasting
  • Calculate and raise sales invoices for the entire Group
  • Manage cash collection process by maintaining strong relationships with customers to ensure payment is received on time
  • Daily cash reconciliations
  • Weekly and monthly cashflow forecasts submitted to the directors
  • Actual cashflow reporting for the month end
  • Assist Head of Finance with budgeting and reforecasting
  • Reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare quarterly VAT return
  • Liaising with and partial management of Accounts Payable department
  • Other ad-hoc tasks

Profile

The successful Assistant Accountant:

  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Strong financial modelling skills in Excel
  • Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities with ability to work in a multi-currency environment

  • Previous experience in similar role managing VAT returns, cashflow forecasts and bank reconciliations
  • Experience in debt collection
  • Actively studying Accounting qualification e.g. ACCA/CIMA
  • Ideally worked in a group with multiple entities
  • Experience of working with Xero is a bonus
