About the role

Technology Governance and Line 1 Risk forma part of the SIAM Strategy and Delivery team that provides the strategic view of Technology Services, ensuring the alignment of Technology Services goals to platforms, and ensuring platform strategies are integrated to provide a cohesive service set to consumers, as well as being integrated to the overall AMP Technology landscape.

This role will report into the Line 1 Senior Risk Manager with a key focus on controls assurance and will provide support to the Technology Governance and Risk function in their day to day risk management activities. This may include risk and control identification and assessment, incident, issue and breach management and risk in change.

This position sits within the Line 1 Risk team and is responsible for the execution of operational risk and control assurance activities to ensure Technology services delivered by the group are well managed and within risk appetite. The role will maintain strong relationships with Line 2 Enterprise Risk Management.

Key responsibilities
  • Drive development, and implementation of the Technology and Cyber Security Control Assurance Framework which supports the AMP Group business model and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Assist in the development of Controls Assurance Plans and identification of critical risks and key controls to be tested.
  • Lead the planning of Controls Assurance engagements and completion of control tests (design and operating effectiveness) in AMP Limited to provide timely and effective insights into the effectiveness of the internal control environment.
  • Manage and coach a small team in the delivery of an effective Controls Assurance Program across Technology, utilising AMP's Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Document process walkthroughs and tests of controls to allow for independent re-performance and understanding.
  • Write and present assurance reports including detailed findings, recommendations and agreed actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Controls Assurance Program through implementation of continuous control monitoring, automation and control rationalisation.
  • Facilitate close-out meetings to present assurance outcomes and align on agreed actions to address critical risks and implement continuous improvement in processes.
  • Establish and maintain control assurance metrics and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for security controls optimisation in line with emerging threats internally and externally. Support identification of appropriate, fit for purpose and cost-effective control solutions, and adopting new security technologies to support effective and efficient management of risk and controls.
  • Ensure that AMP Group Technology meets requirements of regulator / audit / governance committee
  • Drive a collaborative and supporting culture within the Risk team and the Business.


Capabilities & Experience

Experience required

You will need to demonstrate a blend of technical and business knowledge, show experience in working in a diverse range of technologies and evidence the ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.

The candidate must have a passion for technology risk, excellent communication skills and the flexibility to thrive in a fast- paced collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
  • Experience working as an analyst or auditor within a risk/compliance role is essential
  • Prior experience in assurance related roles, preferably with a focus on financial services.
  • Risk Advisory and Assurance domain experience with working knowledge of Operational Risk and Compliance Frameworks, Governance Risk and Compliance tools, Control Assurance Policies & Procedures, and Internal/External Audits
  • Strong leadership to create and sustain a culture of accountability, ownership and delivery
  • Ability to give and receive constructive challenge, consult and advise, whilst maintaining excellent relationships and the respect of senior executives
  • Sound organisational planning and implementation skills, and demonstrated ability to apply them in rapidly changing business environments
  • Ability to implement, monitor and report on risk management and compliance frameworks, risks and incidents across multiple businesses
  • Ability to work with complex business organizations and provide operational risk expertise and consulting for projects
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think laterally and strategically.
  • Understanding of the Technology and the Banking and Financial Services Industry
  • Strong people management/ leadership skills, to motivate and drive a strong team culture

Qualification/s required

Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineer, Technology, Law, Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance or equivalent.
