Role:
As the Senior Project Manager within the UK Audit Technology Delivery Team (ATDT), you will be responsible for building the Technology relationship between ATDT and the UK Audit capability and as such will be expected to act as a 'trusted business advisor.' Overall, this relationship should align the services offered by ATDT with the Audit business strategy.

The Senior Project Manager, in doing this will need to establish a trusting working relationship with UK Audit Business stakeholders to understand objectives and plans, along with the business strategy and key themes to achieve the success they expect. The Senior Project Manager, with the support of technical specialists can then use this information to oversee the delivery of the designed solutions and products against the business needs.
The Senior Project Manager will support the ATDT Programme Manager whose focus is on the delivery of Technology change and benefits to the Audit Business. The role includes leading the scoping, structuring, planning and execution of projects to ensure the right technology is delivered to time, budget and quality as expected by the business.

As part of the role, the Senior Project Manager will have performance management responsibilities for the ATDT Project Managers and Business Analysts. This includes conducting performance management duties, supporting with career development and coaching. The Senior Project Manager will also be expected to support the development and evolution of project management best practises and champion the implementation and adoption of new ways of working. Senior Project Managers are also expected to liaise with their counterparts to identify and manage key interdependencies between projects.
In this key project role for ATDT, the Senior Project Manager will also manage the ATDT budget providing timely and accurate finance updates. This will include building and reporting on ETCs and EACs to the Programme Manager for review.

Key Responsibilities:
• Developing strong, trusting, and credible relationships with Audit Technology
• Translating business requirements into projects that deliver Technology change in support of Audit strategic needs
• Day-to-day management of projects, including taking projects forward from initiation, successfully managing and closing the project. This also includes:
o Upholding the projects governance framework and KPMG approvals processes
o Effective co-ordination of activities that make up the project and their interdependencies
o Managing and mitigating any risks and other issues that may arise
o Managing project budgets, monitoring actuals and providing accurate forecasts and Estimate at Complete finance statuses
o Ensuring architectural coherence within the Technology design authority;
o Ensuring maximum efficiency in requesting and allocation of resources and skills within the project
o Managing communications with stakeholders
• Reporting project progress at regular Steer Co's to business stakeholders, Programme Manager and ATDT Leadership
• Performing the monthly ATDT finance updates and reporting to Programme Manager
• Being an active member of the ATDT community and supporting other team members
• Performance Management responsibilities for one or more Project Managers within the team including: objective setting, performance management, pastoral reviews, guidance, support and any training needs
• Coaching one or more of the project professionals within the team around a particular topic, areas of best practise or providing a more holistic coaching role where knowledge and experience can be shared

Skills & Experience:
• Experience in delivering IT/Business related programmes and projects
• Demonstrable project and programme management expertise with experience of having delivered several large and complex projects from initiation to closure
• Good knowledge of project management approaches and demonstratable experience in delivering Waterfall and Agile projects
• Qualified as an APMP Practitioner (or equivalent)
• Educated to degree level in a business-related subject or equivalent experience in a business or IT environment.
• Strong financial acumen in project budgets and monthly reporting
• Ability to work positively with the full range of individuals and groups involved in the project
• Excellent Stakeholder management skills and experience
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of the project management team, Senior Managers, Directors and 3rd party service providers
• Necessary seniority to be able to take on the responsibilities required of the role
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Being able to understand the wider objectives of the project and business benefits to the Audit capability
• Credibility within the project environment and ability to influence others
• Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects, including risk management
• Good knowledge and practise of resource allocation procedures
• Experience of having performance managed teams, ideally project management professionals including experience in coaching high performing teams
• Driven and enthusiastic with a 'can-do' attitude and a keen sense of ownership to get the job done in a practical and pragmatic fashion without upsetting others
• Proven written and oral communications skills with strong interpersonal skills that can be executed credibly to inspire confidence in you and the delivery of the project
• A strong problem solver with a pragmatic and tenacious attitude to seek out resolutions including ability to find innovative ways of solving
• Experience of Cloud technologies and/or software development environments would be advantageous
