Internal Audit Service (IAS) provides independent assurance that we're achieving our objectives effectively and in the right way. Our remit is to provide assurance over compliance, operational and strategic risks and ensure they are being managed optimally.

This opportunity would be well suited to someone with previous experience in a managerial level audit role, possibly within a 'Big 4' accounting firm. Reporting to the Head of Audit (Commercial), you'll have real scope to make an impact as our aim is to be a top-performing IAS function.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • You'll work with internal teams and external co-sourced partners on a sophisticated portfolio of global commercial audits, working collaboratively throughout the audits to highlight issues and propose solutions.
  • You'll be required to quickly develop relationships with in-country management teams, and evaluate a range of judgemental issues around risks, controls and policy interpretation.
  • We'll expect you to provide oversight, mentoring and feedback on peer and team member performance to support their development.
  • We'll also look to you to innovate and drive continuous improvement in our auditing processes, including sharing knowledge with the wider team.
  • Another key focus will be to identify insights and themes to share with the business on the challenges and risks that come from commercialising our portfolio.


Essential requirements
  • Previous experience in a managerial-level audit role
  • Solid understanding and experience of the Pharmaceutical experience
  • Commercial compliance audit experience
  • Previous experience of auditing regulatory risk and compliance frameworks within the pharma sector, including evaluating compliance with anti-bribery and off-label marketing policies and standards
  • Ability to use Data Analytics to inform audit planning, fieldwork and reporting. A key focus is to enable improved insights on a regular basis and ongoing sharing with the business.
  • Strong project management skills to multi-task/ manage a portfolio of individual assignments, and co-ordinate and monitor broader programmes
  • Ability to manage and empower multi-disciplinary teams across different global locations, including working effectively with external co-sourced provider teams
  • A flexible communication style, able to adjust your approach and influence others, including in-country senior management teams
  • Ability to work in close proximity of auditees for commercial audits, including undertaking travel domestically and internationally (up to 40% of working days)
