What you will do

Summary

The Operational Risk Manager is a global role in managing Risk function and accountable for the performance management process and staffing for the unit. Participates in developing the strategic plan and manages the unit's expenses.

  • Manages a Risk unit or function. Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the unit.
  • Provides leadership and education to business unit management related to risk management responsibilities and maintenance (of the 3 legged stool which includes: proper balance between risk management, client satisfaction, and financial results
  • Determines staffing needs, makes hiring and firing decisions, handles salary administration, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities
  • Participates in developing the business unit strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit. Follows through to ensure that objectives are met.
  • Develops unit(s) budget and manages the expenses for the unit
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, ad communication.
  • Ensures that adequate training/cross training is provided for all employees.

What you must have

  • At least 10 years relevant work experience in Risk, preferrably in RCSA.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing the organization's activities
  • Analytical and communication skills are required to provide direction and guidance to staff, work with partners in Compliance and Legal areas, and consult with partners/ clients
  • Leadership and organizational skills are required to direct the unit's activities.
