Child protection charity empowering families

Our partner uses a community-led model of child protection that empowers families and enables them to provide children with opportunities to reach their potential. They are in need of a volunteer to provide training to their new finance team.

Until 2013, the organisation ran a residential care institution for vulnerable and under-privileged children, but with increased research and evidence to show that children have better outcomes when living in a family environment they transitioned to a family-care model. They focus on prevention and strengthening work – they understand what barriers and challenges families face to keep children at home, and support them in addressing these challenges.

Your role will be to review their progress since they last received an AfID volunteer and provide further training as needed, particularly to their new accountant who has a limited understanding of accounting and finance. They would also like assistance in preparing for an upcoming external audit.

An excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact, and contribute towards the professional development of the local finance team.
